This Saint Paul & Duluth Railroad Company Stock Certificate was issued in 1892 and is hand signed by the company president. Known as the "Skally Line" they formed from the reorganization of the Lake Superior and Mississippi Railroad in 1877. It ran from Saint Paul to Duluth with branches to Minneapolis, Taylors Falls, Kettle River and Colquet on to Grantsburg and Superior in Wisconsin. They were purchased by the Northern Pacific Railroad in 1900.
