Comic book legend Stan Lee created some of the most memorable characters in American culture including Spider-Man, the X-Men, Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk, Fantastic Four, Black Panther, Daredevil, Doctor Strange and more. Stan Lee was known for showing up for bit cameo parts in his movies. Marvel would not be the company it is today without him. Stan Lee passed in 2018.

Stan Lee Media was founded in 1998 and operated until 2000 when it filed for bankruptcy. The company was founded to produce a new line of characters in various media. Amid various lawsuits, fraud charges, and the dot com meltdown, the company ran out of money and folded.
