This Standard Royalty Syndicate stock certificate was issued in 1921 and is hand signed by president and founder C.C. Cannan. Cannan was convicted for fraud in 1927. He would sell shares of the Texas Royalty Syndicate, a later company he owned, and take the money for his own use.

They were based out of Houston, Texas.
