This Sun Oil Company (SUNOCO) $1,000 Bond was issued in 1968. SUNOCO began as The Peoples Natural Gas Company in 1886 and was changed to Sun Company by 1890. The company changed it's name a couple of times, it was Sun Co. until 1920, then it became Sun Oil Company until 1976 and is now known as SUNOCO. The company supplies fuel to roughly 7,300 Sunoco branded gas stations and might be most famous for it's sponsorship of NASCAR where the cars use "SUNOCO Race Fuel".
