This Talcott National Corporation stock certificate was issued in 1968 for 100 shares. The company traces its history back to 1854 as James Talcott, Inc. and became Talcott National Corp in 1968 after the acquisition of several financial institutions and engaged in commercial, real estate, consumer, and equipment financing. After several years of hardship, Talcott National would become Leucadia National in 1982 and would grow into a major Property and Casualty insurance company and purchased Colonial Penn in 1991.

In 2018 Leucadia National Corp changed its name to Jefferies Financial Group and is now one of the largest financial services companies in the world and is traded on the NYSE.
