Rare Chaplin Studios, Inc. Stock Certificate (c.1910s) – Unissued, Certificate #30
This is an unissued Chaplin Studios, Inc. stock certificate from the 1910s. It is marked as certificate #30, making it one of the earliest issues. There are only 10 known stock certificates signed by Charlie Chaplin himself; the first 10 bear his original signature, and starting with certificate #11, Alfred Reeves signed as president.
Chaplin Studios, Inc. was established in 1918 as Charlie Chaplin sought greater creative control over his films. The studio opened on five acres off Sunset Boulevard, operated for decades, and influenced countless productions. It later served as the home to notable projects and studios, including King Studios, Red Skelton Studios, The Adventures of Superman, Perry Mason, and eventually became the home of A&M Records and later the Jim Henson Company. This certificate captures a pivotal piece of film history.
Condition note: As pictured, there is slight separation of the lower perforation of the receipt. Despite this, the piece remains a very nice example of early Chaplin memorabilia.
