The Cincinnati, Indianapolis, St. Louis, & Chicago Railway Company was formed out the bankrupcy of the Indianapolis, Cincinnati, and Lafayette Railroad in 1880. The rail line connected these cities. It ultimately merged with othe rail line to form the Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago and St Louis Railway which was also known as the Big Four Rail Roads.

This hand-signed but unissued stock certifcate is from the 1800s and features a stunning etching of a steam engine in the vignette.
