The Electric Storage Battery Company was started in 1888 when W. W. Gibbs saw the need for electric lighting. In 1900 the company developed a battery for electric taxi cabs which bore the name Exide. The Electric Storage Battery Company eventually changed it's name to Exide. They are now part of Enersys. Issued in the 1960s. Interesting vignette of a mother and child playing with electricity.
