The Flint and Pere Marquette Railroad Company was chartered in 1857 to build a rail line from Flint Michigan to Pere Marquette at lake Michigan. In 1895 the Flint and Pere Marquette launched a railway car ferry across lake Michigan to Manitowoc Wisconsin. The company was merged with several other railroad companies in 1899 to form the Pere Marquette Railroad. Issued in 1880s-90s. Hand signed. Vignette features a steam train crossing a bridge over a flowing river.
