The Flint and Pere Marquette Railroad Company was chartered in 1857 to build a rail line from Flint Michigan to Pere Marquette at lake Michigan. In 1895 the Flint and Pere Marquette launched a railway car ferry across lake Michigan to Manitowoc Wisconsin. The company was merged with several other railroad companies in 1899 to form the Pere Marquette Railroad. Issued in 1881. Hand signed. Vignette features a steam train crossing a bridge over a flowing river.
