Description Extended Information

The world's first pay phone was patented and installed by The Gray Telephone Pay Station Company in Hartford Connecticut in 1889.  The original pay phone used a bell that would ring when a coin was inserted to alert the operator that the call had been paid for.  Eventually over 2 million pay phones were installed across America.  This stock certificate highlights a nice vignette of an early rotary pay telephone. Issued 1930s.
