Description Extended Information

The Louisville and Jeffersonville Bridge Company was formed in 1887 to build the Big Four Bridge which crosses the Ohio River connecting Louisville, Kentucky and Jeffersonville, Indiana. The bridge was completed in 1895 and spans 2,525 feet across the Ohio River. The original bridge was used for rail roads to connect the two cities. It has since been converted to pedestrian and bicycle use.

This unissued stock certificate is from the 1800s and features a stunning etching of a steam engine on the left and an American Bald Eagle on the right.
