The Hudson River Railroad was formed in 1845.  In 1864 the railroad was bought by Cornelius Vanderbilt.  In 1869 Vanderbilt merged the New York Central with the Hudson River Railroad to form the New York Central and Hudson River Railroad.  Gorgeous vingette featuring a steam train rolling down the tracks as well as freighters and sailboats in the bay.  Issued in the 1960s.  Oversized 13.5" x 9.25".
