The Story of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange written by Elkins Wetherill was printed in 1976 and was taken from an address given by Wetherill at the 270th Franklin Birthday Dinner of The Newcomen Society on January 28th 1976. He was the guest of honor. Wetherill was President of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange from 1965 until 1981.

On May 10th 1978 the exchanged changed it's name from the PBW Stock Exchange to the Philadelphia Stock Exchange.
