This rare Twentymile Oil and Gas Company stock certificate was issued in 1920 and is hand signed by the company president. The Twentymile Oil & Gas Company was incorporated in Colorado in 1917. They drilled wildcat wells in Routt County, Colorado near the town of Oak Creek now known as the Williams Park anticline. They found natural gas "in such quantity that a flame can be continually kept burning" according to the Denver Mining Financial Record. Due to the lack of funds and the poor market for natural gas, they capped the well.
