This The Utica and Black River Railroad Company $1000 Gold Bond was issued in 1890 and is hand-signed. Incorporated in 1853 they operated a passenger line from Utica to Boonville until 1883 when it expanded through the consolidation with other railroads. In 1913 it was merged into the New York Central and Hudson River Railroad Company.
