The United States Lines Company operated cargo services from 1921 to 1989. It was founded with three ships, two of which were originally German ships captured during WWI and kept as reparations. One of the founders was Kermit Roosevelt, son of President Theodore Roosevelt. The United States Lines Company operated cargo from 1921 until 1989 and luxury ocean liners from the 1920's until 1969. this stock certificate was issued in the 1940s.
