This rare Washington Mills Stock Certificate was issued in 1872 and is hand-signed by the company president. Features a nice George Washington 25 cent revenue stamp. Issued to Charles E. Perkins. Washington Mills was a textile mill based in Lawrence, Massachusetts that produced wool and cotton goods. The mill was built in 1846 and was renamed Washington Mills in 1859. They operated until 1885. This riverfront mill still stands today in the mill district of Lawrence as high-end condos and shopping.
