The Yazoo and Mississippi Valley Railroad was founded in 1882 as part of the Illinois Central Railroad.  The railroad is referred to in many Blues songs as the "Yellow Dog Railroad" derived from the letters YD that were on the freight trains.  The Yazoo and Mississippi Railroad Depot in Rosedale Mississippi is a designated stop on the Mississippi Blues Trail commemorating the lyrics of blues artist Robert Johnson.  Unissued share from the 1800s.  Nice vignette of a train at the depot and a sailing ship on the right.
