The Chicago and North Western Railway Company was an original member of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Added February 16, 1885. The company was formed in the 1850s as a merger of several small railroads in Illinois and Wisconsin. It was actually ran by Chicago's first Mayor, William B. Ogden.

This stock certificate was issued in the 1950s.
