This rare trade ticket tax bill was issued in 1936 as a sale of 100 shares of CMR from the firm Chas. D. Barney & Co. Features a State of NY and US Treasury stock transfer stamps on the front.

Chas. D. Barney & Co was founded by Charles Dennis Barney in 1873 in Philadelphia. In 1938 they merged with Edward B. Smith & Co. to form Smith Barney & Co. In 2009, they merged with Morgan Stanley to form Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. Memorabilia from the original Smith Barney firm, Chas. D. Barney & Co is very difficult to find!
