Details include railroads, forts, tribes, rivers, and cities etc. Johnson's detailed maps of the West are highly collectible and due to their every changing and quality detail.

A.J. Johnson was a prominent map maker in the United States in the 19th Century. He worked along side Colton in his early days before branching out on his own. His first major publication was Johnson's New Illustrated Family Atlas. He partnered with Ward in 1864 to publish their first Atlas.
