Description

This rare metal badge from the American Stock Exchange was an employee of the trading floor for the Floor Services Section. This employee would have been a Page for the Exchange with the #69 as their identifier. They would have worn these on their jacket.

The New York Curb Exchange was established in the early 1900s. It got it's name because brokers actually traded on the "curb" outside the New York Stock Exchange. It's name became formalized as the New York Curb Exchange in 1929 and eventually was renamed the American Stock Exchange in 1953. The American Stock Exchange, once a competitor of the NYSE and the third largest U.S. stock exchange, was purchased by NYSE Euronext in 2008.
