The Edison Phonograph Works Company was founded by Thomas Edison in 1888. He was majority stockholder and the company's founding president. The company was formed to manufacturer Thomas Edison's phonograph. The factory in New Jersey was destroyed in a fire in 1914 and then merged into Thomas A. Edison Inc. in 1924.

This Edison Phonography Works stock certificate is unissued and was printed by John B. Powers & Sons in 1888 when the company was incorporated.
