This rare embossed leather hard-cover edition with gold gilted edges was printed in 1894. This was the personal copy of the Chicago Board of Trades' First Vice President, Milton C. Lightner. The Thirty-Sixth Annual Report of the Trade and Commerce of Chicago for the year ending December 31, 1893 compiled for the Board of Trade by George F. Stone, Secretary. This book has a ton of detail of the commodity environment of Chicago during 1893 complete with a review from Charles D. Hamill, President of the Board of Trace of the City of Chicago.

This was the personal copy of Milton C. Lightner. Cover is embossed leather with Milton C. Lightner in gold as well as gold gilted edges. Lightner was born in 1850 in Bridgeport, PA. He graduated from Racine college and began his business career in Chicago. After the Great Chicago Fire, he left the banking industry for the Board of Trade and join McCormick, Adams & Co. In 1878 he founded the firm Smith & Lightner trading on the Board of Trade and with various other partners. He was a member of the Board of Trade since 1875, elected to the committee of arbitration in 1883 then second vice-president of the Board of Trade in 1893 and first vice-president in 1894 when this book was written.

Lightner is listed as the Second Vice-President in 1893 and the First Vice-President in 1894 in the Executive Officer's page in the front of the book.
