Description

Hornblower & Weeks was founded by Henry Hornblower and John Weeks in 1888. Hornblower & Weeks would become one of the largest members of the New York Stock Exchange with over 90 retail office throughout the world. In the early days of the firm they occupied the Merchant's Bank Building on Devonshire Street and eventually moved to the Exchange Building at 53 State Street in Boston.

The company went through many mergers throughout the 1970s. They eventually merged with Shearson Loeb Rhoades and the Hornblower name was retired. The subsequent firm was purchased by American Express in 1981 to form Shearson/American Express.

This trade ticket was issued in 1914 by Hornblower & Weeks through the Boston Stock Exchange for 10 Shares of the North Butte Mining Company for Hovey Kenney.
