BNY's (Bank of New York) history dates back to 1784 with original shareholders including Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton. In 2007 they merged with Mellon Financial to become the world's largest security servicing company one of the largest asset management firms. They are now known as The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation or BNY for short.
