This rare find is a trader jacket once worn by a trader name Steve Dorf who worked in the Soybean-Oil Pit of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange until 2012. He worked for Golden Eagle Cooperative who traded agricultural commodities on the Exchange and has operated for over 100 years representing local farmers in Iowa. They formed in 1908 as the Farmers Elevator Company of Goldfield. They became Golden Eagle in 1983 when they merged with the Farmers Cooperative of Eagle Grove. The soaring eagle badge and bright colors helped to identify Golden Eagle traders.

Traders used these jackets so they could be quickly identified on the floor. Most traders on the CME wore red as it was the free jacket issued upon becoming a member. Many would customize their jackets with crazy designs or colors to help them stand out or represent the firm they were trading for. This Jacket was made by Chicago company Peco. Peco was established in 1919 and makes the majority of Trader Jackets on the NYSE and the Chicago Board of Trade / CME.
