Description

This rare find is a Chicago Mercantile Exchange trader jacket once worn by a trader who worked for Carr Futures, Inc. Carr Futures was established in 1987 with offices in Chicago, Paris and Singapore. They acquired Drexel brokerage teams 3 years later and opened offices in New York and several other cities throughout the globe. Carr Futures purchased the Institutional Futures Division of Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc. in 1997. They were acquired by Credit Agricole in 1997 and in 2004, they changed their name to Calyon Financial. In 2008, Caylon Financial merged with Fimat to become Newedge. Carr Futures Inc traded under the "House" number 505 on the CME.

Tragically, the New York Office was located on the 92nd floor of the North Tower of the World Trade Center. All 69 employees perished as a result of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Traders used these jackets so they could be quickly identified on the floor. Most traders on the CME wore red as it was the free jacket issued upon becoming a member. Many would customize their jackets with crazy designs or colors to help them stand out or represent the firm they were trading for. This Jacket was made by Chicago company Peco. Peco was established in 1919 and makes the majority of Trader Jackets on the NYSE and the Chicago Board of Trade / CME.

As the relevance of floor traders dwindles, these jacket have become very rare finds, no matter the condition. These CME trader jackets look great in a jersey display cases! Want to spruce it up a bit? Checkout our a large selection of vintage trader jacket badges and buttons as well.

Now known as CME Group Inc., they operate the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Chicago Board of Trade, New York Mercantile Exchange and the Commodity Exchange. They are the largest operator of derivatives exchanges in the world.
