Description

Vintage etching of the Midwest Stock Exchange in Chicago by Kent Hagerman (1893 - 1978). His earlier work was signed by his given name William Kay Hagerman. He began signing his name Kent Hagerman around 1940.

This authentic etching by Kent Hagerman depicts a scene from the east end of the Trading Floor of the Midwest Stock Exchange, designed by Louis Sullivan, in Chicago at 120 South LaSalle Street. The Midwest Stock Exchange was founded as the Chicago Stock Exchange in 1882 until it merged with the Cleveland, Minneapolis-St. Paul and St. Louis exchanged to form the Midwest Stock Exchange. In 2018 they were purchased by the NYSE and now are known as NYSE Chicago.

Fantastic depiction of the Exchange Floor and the daily working of brokers throughout the Exchange. Printed on hand-made laid paper with full margins. Signed in pencil and titled Midwest Stock Exchange - Chicago. We had this etching professional framed with a decorative black frame, acid-free double matting, and UV resistant glass.
