Framed Oklahoma Oil Corporation Stock Certificate Signed by J. Paul Getty – 1922

Own a piece of American industrial history: a hand-signed Oklahoma Oil Corporation stock certificate from 1922, personally signed by oil magnate J. Paul Getty. This rare collectible is #333, issued to G.W. Wooley for 1,000 shares, and framed in archival materials to allow viewing from the front and back with a black wood frame.

Get the broader context: J. Paul Getty and his father George founded Oklahoma Oil in 1916, just two years after J. Paul finished college. Getty’s impact on the Oklahoma Oil industry is unquestioned. His Nancy Taylor Number One Oil Well Site was later placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. Getty founded Getty Oil in 1942, and Fortune Magazine declared him the wealthiest living American in 1957. Getty Oil grew into the world’s largest privately owned business, fueling Getty’s immense wealth and enabling one of the largest art collections in the world, which formed the basis of the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles.

Additional notable history includes J. Paul Getty’s involvement in the kidnapping of his grandson, John Paul Getty III, which was depicted in the film All the Money in the World and the Netflix limited series Trust, with Mark Wahlberg and Donald Sutherland portraying Getty.
