This scarce Green Giant Company $1000 Bond Certificate was issued in 1977. The Green Giant Company was founded in 1903 as the Minnesota Valley Canning Company. The brand "Green Giant Great Big Tender Peas" was introduced in 1925 and the giant was introduced three years later. He was rebranded and named the Jolly Green Giant in 1935 and the company renamed themselves the Green Giant Company in 1950.

They merged with Pillsbury in 2001 which was bought by General Mills who sold the brand to B&G Foods.
