Gulf Corp. or Gulf Oil was formed with the discovery of oil near Beaumont Texas in 1901. Mellon Bank was one of the first investors in Gulf Oil and were closely associated from then on. Gulf Oil merged with Standard Oil of California in 1985 and both rebranded as Chevron. This mock up includes the famous Gulf logo.

Gulf Oil was This Gulf Corporation Stock Certificate Mock-up includes the general stock certificate layout with notes indicating changes and alterations and the plastic overlay of it’s original folder. Photo 1 is the final mock-up with the plastic overlay. This contains the notes as well as the cut and paste additions to the mock-up. Photo 2 is the original mock-up layout for this issue. Stock Certificate Mock-ups are the design and legal blue print for the stock certificate issue. These mock-ups were used to design the layout and art on the stock certificate and to assure that all the legal language was included on the certificate. Many of these are several pages with clear plastic sheets to allow for notes and directions. These also often have the vignettes and photos taped in place and some even have the original photos included separately. Stock Certificate Mock-ups were always a work in progress so they were handled often and show the wear and tear of the process.
