Description

This is a rare Northern Pacific Railway Company sign from J.P. Morgan & Co. These signed were used by J.P. Morgan when they secured the right to use either equipment, railroad lines, or other assets of the rail company. The Northern Pacific Railroad was founded by an Act of Congress, signed by President Lincoln in 1864. Much of its route was determined by the Lewis and Clark expedition. The Northern Pacific Railroad was one of the original members of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Added February 16, 1885.

This sign measures 13.25" long by 4". Solid metal sign was used and shows some weathering and oxidation. Some wear/marring from where it was once mounted at the screw holes. Great piece of J.P. Morgan and Northern Pacific Railway memorabilia.

Four bolt holes on each corner make it an easy sign to hang for display.

The sign reads,
"NORTHERN PACIFIC RAILWAY
EQUIPMENT TRUST OF 1952,
J.P. MORGAN & CO. INCORPORATED,
FA-15 TRUSTEE, OWNER, LESSOR."

The Northern Pacific Railroad was one of the original members of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Added July 3, 1884.
