The Philadelphia Traction Company was founded in 1883 by William Kemble, William Lukens, and Peter A.B. Widener  to consolidate existing streetcar lines on Philadelphia. This certificate is signed by Peter Widener's son, George Widener, as President.  George Widener and his son died on the Titanic when it sunk in 1912.   Issued in 1899.  Hand-signed.
