This rare Standard Oil Specimen Bond Certificate was printed in 1942. It was 20 year note due in 1962 and paid 3%. Standard Oil was founded in 1870 by John D. Rockefeller. Standard Oil was the focus of the anti-trust Supreme Court decision of 1911 which split the company into many different oil and gas companies.

This specimen was printed in the 1942. Oversized bond; 13 7/8" x 10".

Added to the Dow Jones Industrial Average February 6, 1924.
