This rare Thomas A. Edison Inc. Stock Certificate was issued to and signed by President Charles Edison in 1945. He signed this stock certificate on the front and back.

Charles Edison
Charles Edison was the son of the famous inventor Thomas A. Edison. Growing up in a household steeped in innovation and creativity, Charles developed an early interest in his father's work. After earning a degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he became involved in various aspects of his father’s business, eventually taking on a leadership role as president of Thomas A. Edison, Inc. His tenure was marked by efforts to modernize the company while honoring his father's legacy.
In addition to his business accomplishments, Charles Edison was also an influential figure in public service and politics. He served as the Assistant Secretary of the Navy during World War II, where he contributed to the war effort through various administrative roles. Edison's diverse interests also led him to explore the world of entertainment, where he produced films and worked with notable figures in the industry. He also served as the 42nd Governor of New Jersey. Throughout his life, Charles Edison strived to uphold his father's innovative spirit, leaving a lasting impact on both business and public service.

Thomas A. Edison, Inc.
The Thomas A. Edison Inc. company was incorporated as the National Phonography Company in 1896. They reorganized as Thomas A. Edison Inc. in 1911 and consolidated most of Edison's companies under this name over time. In 1957 they merged with McGraw Electric Company and became the McGraw-Edson Company. Charles Edison served as the Chairman of the newly merged company until he retired in 1964.
