This rare un-issued Northern Pacific Railroad Company stock certificate was from the 1875-1879. Features the signature of President Charles B. Write who was president from 1875-1879. The vignette features the engraved portrait of Frederick Billings. The company was founded by an Act of Congress, signed by President Lincoln in 1864 making it the largest land grant in American history. Much of its route was determined by the Lewis and Clark expedition and was America's second trans-continental railroad.
