Memorabilia from the Hartford Stock Exchange is exceedingly rare. The Hartford Exchange was a region stock exchange located in Connecticut. The SEC was formed in 1934 and ten regional stock exchanges subsequently closed, including the Hartford Exchange. An investigation into their trading practices prompted many of these Exchanges to shut their doors rather than comply. As the introduction to long distance telephone service began to expand in the 1930s, the need for regional exchanges also diminished.

This menu was from their annual dinner held at the Hartford Canoe Club in 1914. The menu was personalized to W.P. Putnam on the front cover.
