Description

E.A. Pierce & Co traces its roots back to 1885 as Burrill & Housman. When Edward Pierce took over the firm, he changed the name to E. A. Pierce & Co. After the Crash of 1929, he purchased the Merrill Lynch brokerage business to become the largest wirehouse in the U.S. In 1940, they merged with Merrill Lynch to become Merrill Lynch, E.A. Pierce & Cassatt with the additional purchase of Cassatt & Co. They later merged with Fenner & Beane to become Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Beane. Fenner & Beane was the second largest brokerage house at the time.

The circular nature of this rare NYSE trade ticket is fantastic. It's a sale of 100 shares of Studebaker (famous automobile company) from E.A. Pierce & CO. to Fenner & Beane in 1934 - the firm they would merge with just six years later. The ticket has two stock transfers stamps from the State of NY and the US. Dept of Revenue.

This one-of-a-kind trade ticket is presented in a gorgeous high quality acrylic display that weights over 3 lbs. Magnetically held together, the display is easy to open if want to inspect your item. Perfect for a desktop or bookshelf display.
