Description

The Manhattan Company was founded in 1799 by Aaron Burr to compete with Alexander Hamilton's Bank of New York. The two would later duel and Hamilton would famously shoot and kill Burr. The Manhattan Company which was originally founded to provide drinking water to Manhattan was able to form a bank due to a loop-hole in their charter and formed The Bank of the Manhattan Company several months after its formation.

The Bank of the Manhattan Company is the oldest charter member bank that would eventually lead to the modern day JPMorgan Chase. In 1955 they merged with Chase National Bank to become Chase Manhattan. In 2000 they would merge with JPMorgan to become JPMorgan Chase & Co.

Hard-stock cardboard calendar with months December 1938 through December 1939 unused and still remaining. Awesome piece. Ready to hang.
