Description

This rare trade ticket was issued in 1941 to Jackson & Curtis for 75 shares of the Eastern Company (EML) from Carl H. Pforzheimer & Co. Goodbody & Co. Carl Pforzheimer was a founding member of the New York Curb Exchange and served on its Board of Representatives. He founded his firm in 1901 and made a fortune trading in Standard Oil and the Oil Industry.

Jackson & Curtis was founded in 1879 in Boston and were members of the Boston Stock Exchange and later acquired a seat on the New York Stock Exchange. Jackson & Curtis merged with Paine Webber in 1942 to become Paine Webber Jackson & Curtis. The ticket has 3 State of New York Transfer Stamps on the back.
.
The New York Curb Exchange was established in the early 1900s. It got it's name because brokers actually traded on the "curb" outside the New York Stock Exchange. It's name became formalized as the New York Curb Exchange in 1929 and eventually was renamed the American Stock Exchange in 1953.

This one-of-a-kind trade ticket is presented in a gorgeous high quality acrylic display that weights over 1.5 lbs. Magnetically held together, the display is easy to open if want to inspect your item. Perfect for a desktop or bookshelf display.
