Description

This unused and rare Stock Market Ticker Tape Machine punch board was for 5 cents and paid out in cigarettes. For example Gold Bonds paid out 15 cartons or 3 cartons while a Common Stock paid 3 Cartons or 5 Packs. This board would have 51 winners. On the back of the board would be a punch key which is sealed under the sticker. This what would be used to punch the holes.

Punch Boards were used in local taverns as "trade stimulators" which was basically gambling. Punchboards date back to the 18th century and were popular in the U.S. in the early 1900s as both games of chance ways to advertise. They were outlawed in many states. These hand-made boards were infamous for corruption. This style of board was introduced around 1905 with a foil on the front and back to prevent the operator from tampering with it. They were made with pressed wood and cardboard.

This is a rare Stock Ticker Tape Punch Board with an awesome stock market theme. This would make for a fantastic wall hanging in the office or man-cave.
