This Sbarro specimen stock certificate was printed in 1995. You can almost smell the pizza from this Sbarro, Inc. Famous for the their shopping mall pizza by the slice. Sbarro's was founded in 1956 and has since filled for bankruptcy twice. In 2014 they emerged from their latest bankruptcy and as of 2016 had 318 locations within the United States. Rare find. This Sbarro specimen is from 1995 and features founders Carmela and Gennaro Sbarro on the vignette.

Specimen stock certificates are certificates that were archived by printers and the company as perfect examples of the company’s stock issue. Specimen’s can be identified by their “specimen” stamp, stamped holes spelling “specimen”, or they are often issued with a serial number of a series of zeros. Often, they are also issued with no serial number at all. Specimens can also represent a design that was never issued.
