The New York and Harlem Railroad was the first street railway in the world and one of the first railroads in the United States. It's first line opened in 1832 using horses to pull the trains. This New York and Harlem Railroad bond certificate features a Portrait of Cornelius Vanderbilt who took control of the railway in 1863. The railway was generally worthless at the time but Vanderbilt saw its value as the only line running through the center of Manhattan.

Hand signed and issued in 1949 for $10,000.
